  • About VETASSESS

VETASSESS is Australia’s leading vocational education and training (VET) assessment provider.  We help individuals, training providers and industry groups around the world define and achieve their learning and assessment goals.

    Why get assessed?

The benefits of having your skills assessed are:

    • provides a simple and cost-effective way of gaining national recognition for skills
    • enhances your employment prospects
    • provides documentary evidence of your competence
    • assists you to identify your work strengths and possible training needs
    • assists with career progression or career change.

How we can help your organisation

We can work with your organisation to:

    • assess the competency of staff
    • undertake a skills audit to identify gaps in the organisation's skills and knowledge
    • recognise the skills of your staff by awarding national Statements of Attainment and qualifications ranging from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma
    • advise on gap training options, e.g. mentoring, coaching, job rotation, formal training or short courses.

The competency assessment process can assist organisations to:

    • develop new skills
    • address staff turnover and skill shortages
    • comply with regulatory or licensing requirements
    • deal with new technologies
    • meet quality system requirements
    • match people with the appropriate qualifications
    • boost productivity and profitability.

    Nominating an occupation

To apply, you must nominate one occupation for the skills assessment. It is important that you choose only one occupation for each application. You will need to pay the full assessment fee for each occupation.

    Requirements for each group

All VETASSESS occupations have been coded as A, B, C, D or E. Occupations are classified by groups according to their requirements. Please note DIAC has introduced a new SOL effective from the 1st of July 2011.

    Group A (including Landscape Architecture)

Group A Occupationsrequire a qualification which is at least at the level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree, in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation. In addition to this, the applicant must have at least one year of post-qualification employment in a field which is highly relevant and at an appropriate skill level to your nominated occupation completed in the five years before the date of application for a Skills Assessment. Employment needs to be undertaken after completion of the highly relevant qualification. Pre-qualification employment cannot be considered for Group A.
