ACT Schools
The ACT Department of Education and Training promotes academic excellence and provides cultural enrichment and quality caring specifically designed to meet the needs of international students. The programs developed for international students include:
- Primary Schooling from Kindergarten to Year 6
- Secondary Schooling from Year 7 to Year 12
- Short term study tours for both adult and students
- Summer and Winter School programs
- Year Abroad program
- English Bridging programs
Study programs are tailored to meet the needs of each individual student. The Department provides a range of support services which include:
- pre-arrival information on courses
- help in finding accommodation
- airport reception
- intensive English language courses
- sporting and recreational programs
- monitoring of academic progress
- counselling on school and university subject and course choice
- career advice
- health and welfare service advice
- 24 hour access to Departmental officers
- frequent reporting to parents
- interpretation services
