    Engineering at Melbourne University

The Melbourne School of Engineering (MSE) has come a long way since 1861, when 15 students enrolled in the first engineering classes at Parkville.

They are now Australia’s leading provider of engineering and IT education and the highest-ranked Australian Institution in engineering and IT across three major international rankings (Times Higher Education, Shanghai Jiao Tong and Quacquarelli Symonds). The MSE offers an internationally recognised curriculum with dual accreditation that is unique in Australia. The Master of Engineering suite of programs are the only engineering courses to be accredited by Engineers Australia, as well having received EUR-ACE® label European accreditation, allowing our graduates to register and work as professional chartered engineers in many countries around the world.

    Student testimonial

    Lisa Lowe
    Environmental Engineering graduate

"I really enjoy the diversity of work that you can do. I also like the direct application of it, where I see that I do something and immediately it’s being used by government or a by a water authority to make a decision or to change what they are doing. I get a great deal out of that experience."
