School of Electrical and Information Engineering

Located at the University of South Australia's Mawson Lakes Campus, we are one of five schools within the Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment. We are just 20 minutes by train from the centre of Adelaide, and readily accessible by regular public transport, with excellent facilities for living, studying and recreation.

Our curriculum focuses on energy and information, in how they are generated, processed, transferred and controlled, and, just for something different, we are also home to the UniSA Aviation Academy based at nearby Parafield Airport.

We offer a comprehensive program of leading Bachelor of Engineering degrees in five disciplines,  and double degrees in Management, Marketing Management, Education and Laws, as well as degrees in Applied Science in Aviation.  The essential science discipline of Physics is also situated within the School providing expertise in physics for engineering, medical radiations, aviation and for science education. Our dedicated teaching, research and support staff set and demand high standards, which are reflected in the quality of our graduates.

Our innovative teaching and learning techniques, which emphasise a hands-on approach, mean our students are much sought after as graduate engineers, many already placed before graduation.

The school maintains close links with Australian and overseas institutions and industry, including the nearby, internationally-renowned Adelaide Technology Park, the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, and major contractors such as  BAE Systems, Codan, Clipsal, Computer Systems Corporation and ETSA Utilities. A range of industry scholarships/cadetships offer financial incentives to selected students, with recipients gaining valuable pre-graduation work experience and a guaranteed position upon successful completion of their degree.

The majority of the final year undergraduate engineering projects are sponsored by industry, and over 50 scholarships and prizes are available each year for outstanding students. Browse our web pages to discover how you can become part of this exciting teaching, learning and research environment while securing yourself a sound and rewarding future.
