  • Engineering at LaTrobe

La Trobe University and the Victorian Government are investing $288M in constructing AgriBio, the Centre for AgriBioscience — a world–class institute for research and development in the agricultural biosciences.  A further $94M has been allocated by the Australian Government, the University and other partners to construct the La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science.

These initiatives build on the Faculty’s strength in these areas, and provide exciting opportunities for current and future students to become involved in key research of national and international importance. The Faculty has four Schools: engineering and mathematical sciences; life sciences; molecular sciences; and psychological science. We deliver a wide range of general and specialist courses that will challenge you to think, and expand your life and learning experiences. Courses are offered at Melbourne (Bundoora) and at La Trobe’s regional campuses in Bendigo and Albury-Wodonga. We aim to:

    • forge worldwide research links with industry, government and our alumni
    • be internationally and nationally recognised for the quality of our teaching and research
    • work with industry, government and our alumni to design and deliver courses that produce graduates
who have the necessary skills and knowledge base to meet the needs of employers and society
    • promote science, technology and engineering to the wider community
    • enable our students and our staff to achieve their full potential in a friendly, supportive
      and stimulating environment.
