    School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

    The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering has maintained high professional standards and a strong research orientation since its foundation by Professor Eric Willoughby in 1946. Many of its graduates hold leading positions in industry and government departments or are full professors in universities. Postgraduate study and research is encouraged in the areas described later, but enquiries and suggestions for other initiatives are welcome as we are alert to the need for evolution.

    Double Degree

    Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems) may be taken in conjunction with another Degree program, leading to the award of two degrees:

    Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunications) may be taken in conjunction with another Degree program, leading to the award of two degrees:

    Combined Degree

    An Engineering Degree program may be combined with another discipline, leading to the award of one combined degree:

    School of Mechanical Engineering

    Mechanical Engineering

    • Develop and use new materials and technologies, especially computer-aided engineering
    • Study a wide variety of areas including thermodynamics and electrical fundamentals
    • Practical experience including Industry based projects in final years

    Sports Engineering

    • Design and development of specialised sports equipment and apparel like shoes, swim suits and helmets
    • Design and management of sports facilities - from simple sports surfaces to futuristic stadium design
    • Development of sporting equipment for advanced performance of athletes and parathletes

    Sustainable Energy Engineering

    • Develop renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, wave and geothermal
    • Improve energy efficiency of existing technology such as power generation, manufacturing, agriculture and construction
    • Design and construct new energy efficient systems

    Masters by Coursework

    • Commonwealth supported Masters Degrees in Mechanical, Aerospace or Mechatronics Engineering
    • Graduates from any of our School's undergraduate programs need only complete one additional year of study
