    Advanced Nursing postgraduate study is aimed at registered nurses seeking to advance their knowledge and skills. The focus for postgraduate nursing study is the enhancement of clinical nursing practice. Accordingly the courses focus on enhancing clinical nursing skills, practice knowledge and preparing nurses for clinical leadership roles and prescribing together with facilitating understanding of the current and future context of nursing and health care.

    The Nursing Council of New Zealand has approved the Master of Nursing program as preparation for nurse practitioner roles. Many of the nursing courses are offered in a flexible learning format (one day per month over the course of the semester). Some courses are also offered online.

    Bachelor of Nursing

    Full-time study: 3 years

    Healthcare is multifaceted; with no one discipline functioning in isolation. It’s vital that tomorrow’s nurses are educated in a multidisciplinary environment with extensive clinical experience. This is exactly what you will find in the Bachelor of Nursing (BNurs). During your study you will be involved in research-based projects and clinical practice blocks, both designed to develop your critical thinking and practical knowledge.

    Master of Nursing

    Fulltime study: 1 year (120 points)

    The Master of Nursing (MNurs) program is aimed at registered nurses seeking to advance their knowledge and skills. It is distinctive in terms of the clinical orientation of its nursing courses. The MNurs has been approved by the New Zealand Nursing Council.

    Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

    Fulltime study: 3 years
