    Here you’ll find a summary of, and links to the scholarships and other awards for which AUT students can apply. AUT offers many of them. Some are external.

    General scholarships

    These university-wide scholarships are available to various audiences and for various programmes of study.

    • Postgraduate scholarships

    Vice-Chancellor's Doctoral Scholarships

    The purpose of the AUT Vice-Chancellor’s Doctoral Scholarships is to encourage and stimulate doctoral studies in areas of university research capability. Annual payment of tuition and student services fees. The scholarship does not include the students’ association fee.

    Amount awarded
    An annual stipend of $25,000 per year, plus tuition fees.

    Closing date
    The 2012 round has now closed, a further round will be advertised in 2013. It is important to note that applicants should contact the Faculty Postgraduate Office where you intend to study to discuss admission into the PhD programme prior to applying for this scholarship in 2013.

    • Undergraduate Scholarships

    Keir Trust Study Award

    The purpose of the Keir Trust Study Award is to encourage students facing financial barriers to undertake studies at AUT by offering financial assistance and ongoing non financial support, and to actively encourage recipients to act as role models for other young people in their school/community. Particular consideration will be given to applicants wishing to study in engineering or any trade or technician level programmes.

    Each faculty offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships.


     

    International scholarships

    Following are scholarship sources for international students who are studying at AUT .

    • Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade New Zealand


    The purpose of MFAT’s scholarships schemes is to enhance the skills, training and knowledge of selected individuals and thereby build capacity to contribute to the sustainable development of key areas in their home country.

    • New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships


    Funded by the New Zealand Government and administered by Education New Zealand, the New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships offer a significant educational opportunity. The scholarships provide financial support for students from designated countries undertaking doctoral degrees by research in New Zealand universities. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Applications close on 15th July each year.
