YLE (Young Learners English Practice Tests)

Young Learners tests specifically designed for school children aged between 7 and 12. Cambridge English: Starters sets your child off on their language learning adventure, introducing them to everyday written and spoken English in a fun and motivating way.

The Cambridge ESOL Young Learners English Tests are often a child's first experience of exams and the emphasis is very much on making the experience a positive one. This is reflected both in our beautifully illustrated practice tests and in the Teacher's Notes, with practical activity ideas for each of the Cambridge ESOL YLE Starters, Movers and Flyers tests.

YLE has three levels. Starters is the first, aimed at young children with very basic skills. Children are encouraged to progress by working through Movers and Flyers. Learners earn "Cambridge Shields" in each of the skills areas and are awarded certificates at every level.

Students at Flyers level can set their sights on the first two Cambridge Main Suite English exams, the Key English Test (KET)/Key English Test for Schools (KETS) and the Preliminary English Test (PET)/Preliminary English Test for Schools (PETS). These qualifications are the gateway to a wide range of English exams for all levels and purposes.
