    London

    London is a city/town with a very large population in the country of England which is located in the continent/region of Europe. London  is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom, the largest city, urban zone and metropolitan area in the United Kingdom, and the European Union by most measures. Located on the River Thames. Its history going back to its founding by the Romans, who named it Londinium.

    London and the South East have one of the mildest climates in the UK, but the weather can be unpredictable. Londoners get used to carrying both an umbrella and sunglasses to be prepared for all eventualities!

    Summer can be very pleasant with temperatures averaging 18°C (64°F) and often into the low 20s. In recent years London has experienced heatwaves with temperatures well above 30°C (86°F). Typical temperatures for winter are between 2 and 6°C (36 to 43°F). Temperatures don't often drop below freezing and snow isn't common – although in December 2010 London experienced heavy snowfall and an army of snowmen popped up all over the city! The number of rainy days (with more than 0.25mm of rainfall) is fairly consistent throughout the year, with between 11 and 15 rainy days every month. Overall rainfall is highest in November and August (64 mm and 59mm respectively) and is lowest in March and April (37mm each).

    London is a city rich in culture .The Culture of London concerns the arts, music, museums, festivals and other entertainment in London. London is widely believed to be the culture capital of the world. although this title is disputed with a number of other cities internationally. The city is particularly renowned for its theatre quarter, and its West End theatre district has given the name to "West End theatre", the strand of mainstream professional theatre staged in the large theatres in London. London is also home to notable cultural attractions such as the British Museum, the Tate Galleries, the National Gallery, the Notting Hill Carnival and The O2. A variety of landmarks and objects are cultural icons associated with London, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the tube map. Museums include the V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, the Museum in Docklands
 and The Geffrye Museum, a wonderful museum dedicated to the history of interiors. There’s also the Ragged School Museum – where you can experience how Victorian children were taught – and the Sweet Tea House, which is dedicated to promoting Tibetan art.
