    Liverpool basically is a city and a metropolitan borough situated in North West England. It is placed towards the eastern side of Mersey Estuary. Constructed diagonally on a ridge of hills which go up to an altitude of two hundred and thirty feet above sea level at Everton hill. The regions urban areas directly fall into Bootle and Crosby in Sefton towards the north, and Huyton Dovecot and Prescot in Knowsley towards the east. It comes across Wallasey and Birkenhead at the river Mersey to the west.

    Liverpool's climate is typical of the United Kingdom; highly unpredictable with a mixture of rainy, sunny, windy and cloudy days.Summers are usually warm and sunny, while winters are cold and wet. Temperatures average around 68°F (20°C) in summer and 39°F (4°C) in winter.The weather is particularly warm and pleasant during the summer months of May, June, July, August and September, when Liverpool has many extremely sunny and hot days.The weather during the winter months of November, December, January and February is the most unpredictable and this is the coldest and wettest time of year in Liverpool. However, Liverpool's weather is often sunny in the winter, with fine, crisp days.

    Built on an illustrious heritage that stretches back 800 years, Liverpool has a global reputation for sport, music, architecture and a wealth of culture for students to explore. Today the city is enjoying a resurgence, driven by its designation as European Capital of Culture in 2008.With more museums, theatres, galleries and listed buildings than in any other region outside London, Liverpool's cultural wealth has long been a major attraction. Liverpool's Walker Art Gallery is the national gallery of the North and houses one of the best collections of European art outside London.The World Museum Liverpool and the Metropolitan Cathedral are also quite popular.

    The Economy of Liverpool encompasses a wide range of economic activity that occurs within and surrounding the city of Liverpool, England. With a population of 442,300 within official city limits and over 1.3 million in its Larger Urban Zone, Liverpool is one of the largest cities in the United Kingdom and sits at the centre of the broader Merseyside economic area, which is itself one of the two core economies of the North west of England.
