UNO's College of Education offers the challenges necessary for growth along with the support needed to excel. The College of Education offers: Master of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Counseling with concentrations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, K-12 School Counseling, Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education, and Gerontology. UNO is the only choice in Nebraska for graduate-level counseling programs that offer two CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) accredited degrees.This accreditation from the American Counseling Association reflects our departmental and university-wide dedication to academic excellence.

With concentrations in building administration or teacher leadership, the masters and endorsement programs at UNO provide the basis for administrative certification. The doctoral and specialist degrees in educational administration are terminal degrees designed to enhance leadership and develop expertise in chosen fields. Graduates from the Educational Leadership program will gain the knowledge and expertise to lead others by making informed decisions based on data, engaging in problem solving, planning, research, assessment, collaboration, negotiation and conflict-resolution. From the 4-day LEAD to the year-long Leadership Academy, candidates have opportunities to experience leadership in unique formats. Teaching interests include Program Evaluation, Statistics, Governance & Politics, School Finance, and other courses related to school policy and educational leadership.
