International Students - Cairns

Organising your accommodation is an important step as you prepare for the study year. We can assist you in finding suitable accommodation off campus in private rental or shared accommodation. Please note there is no on campus accommodation available in Cairns. Tourism – Tropical North Queensland maintain a register of commercial accommodation providers on their website. It should be noted that during the peak season (June/July/August) accommodation can be more expensive and heavily booked. All reservations should be made directly with the accommodation providers.

Beware: Share Accommodation Scams
There have been several incidences where people have lost large amounts of money booking accommodation online via websites such as www.easyroommate.com and www.share-accommodation.net. We strongly recommend that if you are organising your own independent accommodation, you make sure that you visit the property first (to ensure it exists) and meet the owners where possible. If you are requested to transfer money into a Western Union bank account before actually visiting the property, it is possible that this is a scam and you should avoid dealing with the property manager.
