  • On-campus accommodation

    Accommodation is available at the Geelong Campus at Waurn Ponds, the Warrnambool Campus and the Melbourne Campus at Burwood. Each resident is housed in single room accommodation and has phone and computer access. Bedrooms are furnished, heated and carpeted. There are shared bathrooms, kitchens, laundry and recreational areas. The residences have a common room with meeting rooms, kitchen, television area and a large open space for social events.     1.  Melbourne

    Melbourne Burwood Campus

    The Melbourne Burwood Campus is easily accessed by public transport. The Burwood Student Village is within walking distance of the main campus and the local shopping centre. A tennis courts is located near the Village and a 3 km walking/running track is available along Gardiner’s Creek which is adjacent to the village. Gardiner’s Creek also provides barbeques and parkland for more passive recreational activities.

    The Student Village provides single room accommodation for 200 students in a mixed gender and multi-cultural environment. All units have a communal lounge, kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities. As students are responsible for preparing their own meals, each unit contains a fully equipped kitchen – basic cooking utensils are provided.

    2. Geelong

    Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus

    The Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus is situated approximately eight kilometres west of the city of Geelong. The residences are part of the campus and are set in a picturesque landscape close to all of the University’s main facilities; Peter Thwaites Lecture Theatre (LT1), library, computer labs, dining room and shops. Sporting facilities such as the tennis courts, ovals and the KD Stewart Centre which houses squash courts, basketball courts and a gymnasium are all within a short walking distance from the residences. A daily bus service operates from the University to the city and surrounding areas.

    On-campus accommodation is provided for 477 students in a co-educational and multi-cultural environment. Each resident is accommodated in their own furnished bedroom and all buildings have communal lounge areas, kitchens and bathrooms. There is also a six bedroom house (Thornhill Rd) approx 1.5 kilometres from the University that is available for second and third year residents and medical students.

    3. Warrnambool

    Warrnambool Campus

    The Warrnambool campus of Deakin University is situated approximately five kilometres east of the city of Warrnambool. The residences are set amidst spacious grounds which extend to the banks of the Hopkins River. A nine hole golf course, tennis, basketball/netball and squash courts, as well as a football oval and gymnasium are featured on campus. A daily bus service operates from the University to the city and surrounding areas.

    The residences provide accommodation for 240 students in a co-educational and multi-cultural environment. Various styles of accommodation are offered. Each resident is accommodated in their own furnished bedroom and all buildings have communal lounge areas, kitchens and bathrooms. Laundry facilities are also available in each unit. Warrnambool residences consist of Bruce Morris Terrace, Sherwood House, Sherwood House II, Tuuram House, Wally Crowe Court, and the Wally Crowe Court Mansions. In total there are 25 units ranging from 4 to 21 bedrooms.

    Off campus

    The Off-Campus Housing Service offers assistance to all Deakin students wanting to organise accommodation. We have Housing Officers available at each Campus to assist students with their housing needs. Our service maintains a housing database of local properties where you will be able to see currently available properties and also current prices. The University recommends that you make arrangement to stay in temporary accommodation for the first few nights in order to find a suitable longer term accommodation option.
