    Australian Wings Academy (AWA) is a professional Pilot Training Academy. They specialize in flight training for Airline cadets, and Commercial Pilots. AWA is a registered Training Organization (RTO) in the state of Queensland, Australia and a CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) provider. This accreditation allows AWA to bring international students in to Australia on an extended visa.

    Australian Wings Academy is based at the Gold Coast Airport located in the Coolangatta control zone on the Gold Coast in sunny Queensland Australia. The Academy has been operating since 1980. The Gold Coast offers fantastic all year round weather with one of the best climates in the world for pilot training and widely acknowledged as Australia's premier tourist destination. There is plenty of part time work for students, and it offers a great lifestyle.

    AWA has amongst the best Airline Pilot Flight Training facilities in Australia, with classrooms, briefing rooms and a state of the art dual Synthetic Flight Trainer. Australian Wings Academy offers flight training, ground school classes, simulator training, instructor courses. A jet bridging course is planned.     Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Pilot Aeroplane Licence)

    Requirements

    Be 18 years or older on completion of your flight training to gain your commercial pilot licence

    Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations)

    Airline Transport Pilot License

    AWA offers a full time comprehensive Airplane Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theory Ground School course. This course is designed specifically to help students master the 4 ATPL subjects that most other students deem as "challenging" while also providing tutorial servers for the remaining 3 easier-to-understand subjects.

    The course duration is 15 weeks, the first 4 subjects listed take a total of 12 weeks whilst the last 3 subjects take 3 weeks.
    Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm. Saturdays may be required from time to time. Students are expected to complete nightly homework and revision during the course. AWA provides practice exams before students attempt the CASA Cyberexams.

    • Flight Planning
    • Navigation
    • Aerodynamics and Aircraft Systems
    • Performance and Loading
    • Air Law (tutorial)
    • Meteorology (tutorial)
    • Human Factors (tutorial)

    The pre requisite is a Diploma of Aviation (current) Commercial Pilots Licence with Instrument Rating) Be 18 years or older on completion of your flying training to gain your licence.
