  • International Research Candidate Scholarships

    UNSW offers the following scholarships to international research candidates of exceptional research potential to undertake a higher degree by research. Only one application is required for the UNSW International Research Scholarships, applicants will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible.

    • International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS)
    • University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA)
    • Tuition Fee Scholarship (TFS) plus a Faculty Research Stipend
    • Tuition Fee Scholarship (TFS)  

    Note: Tuition Fee Scholarships are available for PhD, Masters by Research and Master of Philosophy (in selected disciplines depending on Faculty research areas). This scholarship is only available to candidates who are sponsored by their home country with a living allowance/stipend with a minimum value of $10, 000 per annum. Note: Applicants applying in the discipline areas of Engineering, Business, Science or Humanities and Social Sciences who would like to be considered for a scholarship place at both the Kensington campus (Sydney) and UNSW @ ADFA campus (Canberra), should indicate this on the scholarship application form.

    Australian Government Scholarships (International)

    Graduate Research School

    • AusAID- Australian Development Scholarships(ADS)

    ADS aims to contribute to long-term development needs of Australia's partner countries to promote good governance, economic growth and human development. ADS provides people with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive change and influence the development outcomes of their own country, through obtaining tertiary qualifications at participating Australian institutions.  

    • AusAID- Australian Leadership Awards(ALA)

    ALA provides scholarships for postgraduate  studies in Australia and for short-term fellowship opportunities in specialized research study or for professional attachments through participating Australian organizations.

     The Endeavour Awards is an internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program that forms part of the Australian Government's Australia Awardsinitiative.  A range of fellowships and awards are available for study in Australia for international applicants from participating countries, including: 

    • Endeavour Postgraduate Awards
    • Endeavour Research Fellowships
    • Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Research Fellowships
    • Endeavour Europe Awards

    To be eligible for an Endeavour Postgraduate Award, applicants must have gained admission to a Masters or PhD course in Australia. For further information on eligibility requirements and participating countries, refer to the Endeavour Postgraduate Awardswebpage. Please note: Applications for the Endeavour Postgraduate Awards are made directly to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, applications are not submitted to UNSW.
