University International Scholarships

Each year they offer a large number of partial scholarships to international students. Some recent winners are pictured on the right.                                                                   

All international students who are offered a place to study on any of their postgraduate degree programmes are normally able to apply for at least one of their central University scholarships. All University scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, so you must possess (or expect to receive) excellent results. They hold a formal University Reception each year for their scholarship winners.

·         Alumni Tuition Fee Discount

Newcastle University is offering a 20% reduction in postgraduate tuition fees for all alumni who are self-funding for their postgraduate study and meet the eligibility criteria given below.

·         Country Specific Scholarships

Newcastle University offers the following partial scholarship awards to assist international students with good qualifications to study for a postgraduate degree

·         International Family Discounts (IFD)

They offer discounts to encourage relatives of their current international students, and past international graduates, to pursue their studies at Newcastle University. 

·         Overseas Research Scholarship

Newcastle University is committed to offering support to the very best international students hoping to pursue a programme of research. They are pleased to offer a small number of University funded ORS awards for outstanding international students who apply to commence PhD studies in any subject in 2013/14. Each award (value approximately £5,000 to £9,000 per annum) covers the difference between fees for UK/EU students and international students. 

·         Newcastle University International Postgraduate Scholarship (NUIPS)

The Newcastle University International Postgraduate Scholarship (NUIPS) awards are available for international students starting their studies in September 2013, in the 2013-14 academic year. Each scholarship will have a value of £1,500 per year, payable towards tuition fees.
