    Fees, funding & scholarship search

    • The fee rates are annual rates for full-time study unless specified. You should expect and budget for fees increasing on an annual basis.
    • The search includes 'University-wide' scholarships, College and Departmental awards over £2,000
    • Students interested in a research degree in medical sciences should first identify the department(s) and programme(s) that best fit the research themes.

These scholarships are generally fully funded covering all fees and living expenses, although some are partial awards. Most have restrictions on who can apply, for example based on your nationality or the course you wish to study at Oxford. The vast majority of University-wide scholarships are only open to candidates applying to start a new graduate course of study, although a very few may sometimes consider students who are already enrolled. Students who have deferred their place at Oxford are not eligible to apply for these scholarships.

    External scholarships

External scholarships are managed by external organisations and not by a part of the University of Oxford. They have their own application processes and the closing dates are often different from the university's application deadlines. You should therefore contact the relevant organisation directly to make enquiries about submitting an application for such awards.

    College scholarships

Nearly all colleges offer funding for graduate students, and these scholarships can cover a variety of expenses, ranging from free accommodation to fees and from a grant for living expenses to high table dining rights. College scholarships are often offered in conjunction with a department or other fund, such as the Clarendon-College Scholarships.

Most college scholarships do not require a special application; all candidates accepted by the college who meet the criteria for the award are considered.

    Departmental scholarships

Departmental scholarships range in value from full scholarships covering fees and living expenses, to awards that pay for the college fee (approx £2,000).

Some departmental scholarships do not require a special application; all candidates accepted by the department who meet the criteria for the award are considered. In other instances, particularly in the sciences, you can apply for specific departmental studentships using the standard application form. In all cases, you should check the closing date for the scholarship to ensure you submit your application form on time.
