This graduate entry program produces highly skilled doctors capable of meeting future challenges in a wide variety of careers. The curriculum has been designed with an emphasis on problem-based learning and group work. Students work cooperatively on a carefully planned series of patient-centred problems, each designed to highlight principles and issues in health and disease. Early patient contact and clinical training develop high levels of clinical skills and medical knowledge.
The program's key features include: the simultaneous learning of basic, clinical, biological and social sciences; the improved teaching of communication skills; the use of learning approaches that encourage lifelong learning skills; the incorporation of ethics and professional development as an integral part of the program; and the incorporation of information technology and computing skills to ensure that graduates are able to utilise technological advances to improve their learning skills and knowledge acquisition.
Entry requirements
1. MBBS (Direct Entry for Graduates): GPA of 5.00 in latest key degree (bachelors, honours, masters or PhD) and GAMSAT test.
2. MBBS (Provisional Entry for School Leavers): OP1 (or equiv) and UMAT test. View the equivalent qualificationsfor international students.

Master of Medicine (MMed)
This program offers continuing profession education for doctors, particularly general practitioners.
Fields of study are offered in:
Skin Cancer Medicine, and
General Practice.
Only the Skin Cancer Medicine field of study is available to international students.

1 Year full-time (or part-time equivalent)
Entry requirements
Students must have completed:
(i) an MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognised institution; and
(ii) have completed a minimum of two years clinical practice post graduation.
International students, studying on a student visa, may not undertake the program on campus at UQ on a full time basis; they may only study from their home countries and will not be eligible for an Australian student visa.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; writing 6 (or comparable English language proficiency as per University policy).

Doctor of Medicine (MD)
As the highest academic award in medicine, the Doctor of Medicine (MD) is designed to give formal public recognition to scholars who have made substantial, original and outstanding contributions to medical science as evidenced by their published work.
The MD is a higher doctorate gained by the compilation of published work on a coherent theme and is judged by national and international peers. It must demonstrate the candidate's authoritative standing in the field and achievements in the advancement of knowledge.
Entry requirements
Awards from this University: MBBS for not less than 7 years; MMedSc or MPhil for not less than 3 years; PhD in a branch of medicine.
