    Bachelor of Laws

    Duration: 4 years full-time; 8 years part-time

    This program will be attractive to students who have the ambition to enter the legal profession and who are intent on studying law. It provides students with a comprehensive grounding in law. The program provides the academic training necessary to practise as a lawyer as well as opening many career opportunities in both the public and private sector.

    Students who achieve a GPA of 5.0 or higher in their first year of the program can apply to the Law School to undertake an accelerated program which may enable students to complete their studies within three years. For students who wish to broaden their career options, the Griffith Law School also offers double degrees in law and a partner discipline to produce well-rounded graduates with a broad knowledge and the skills to put that knowledge into practice.

    Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry)

    Duration: 3 years full-time; 6 years part-time

    The Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) is offered full-time on campus at the Gold Coast campus. You may choose to study courses at other campuses if or where the program structure allows. As a full-time student you will generally attend 10-15 hours of scheduled classes per week throughout the semester. Classes may be scheduled during the day and evening throughout the week.

    Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice

    Duration: 3 years full-time; 6 years part-time

    All the specialised knowledge and skills necessary for a career in the highly demanding criminal justice system are taught in this program. This program focuses on the causes of crime and society's response to crime. It will give you a well-rounded perspective on the various arms of the justice system and the relationships between them.

    An optional professional placement in your final year offers a practical off-campus justice-related work experience for one day a week.

    You will graduate with a professional qualification in the field of Criminology and Criminal Justice.

    Master of Criminology and Criminal Justice

    Duration : 1 year full-time; 2 years part-time

    This Masters program qualifies graduates for leading roles in criminal justice fields. Graduates will have developed their understanding of the following areas:

    • the problem of crime in contemporary Australian society
    • the role of research, policy development and evaluation
    • key criminological theories and issues

    Master of Migration Law and Practice

    Duration:1 year full-time

    This masters program aims to build on the knowledge and skills developed in the Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice program by providing students with a more in-depth understanding of the issues associated with this area of practice. This program is aimed at those engaged in practice in this area of the law with a view to providing additional academic and practical skills and will also advance levels of knowledge within the broader legislative framework.

    Doctor of Philosophy

    Duration: Duration F/T - Minimum 2 years, maximum 4 years or P/T - Minimum 3 years, maximum 8 years
