    Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

The TC Beirne School of Law offers one undergraduate program, the Bachelor of Laws (LLB), which can be taken as a single, graduate-entry or dual program. The LLB fulfils the academic requirements for admission as a legal practitioner throughout Australia.

Your LLB will be a passport to exceptional success in the employment market: as a barrister or solicitor in private practice, as a prosecutor in the war on crime, as a community lawyer helping the less fortunate, as a legal officer in the public service, as in-house counsel, or, when combined with another degree, in any one of a wide range of positions in many areas such as accounting, education, foreign affairs, industrial relations, management, politics or taxation.

The LLB provides an education in the law that is distinguished by its rigour, depth and conceptual sophistication. Students gain a thorough understanding of the concepts, principles, policies and values of the law, both in Australia and other jurisdictions, and develop outstanding skills in critical analysis, thought and argument.

    Duration: 4 years full-time.

    Master of Law

The Master of Laws (LLM) program is designed to meet your specific needs – the needs of law graduates in the workforce. The program delivers highly transportable knowledge and skills, enabling you to succeed in the increasingly competitive global legal and business environments. The UQ LLM will give you a professional advantage with the in depth knowledge in your area of legal specialisation, enhanced theoretical and practical expertise, independent and critical thinking, and research skills.

    Duration: 1 year full-time or part-time equivalent

Entry requirements: Bachelor of Laws (GPA 4.5 or higher) or barrister or solicitor for 3 years standing or approved equivalent qualification.
