    Bachelor of Laws

    Duration

4 years (8 sessions) full-time, or part-time equivalent. The first year of the LLB program must be studied full-time.

    Course Description

The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is for school leavers who are keen to complete their studies in Law without the necessity of completing studies in another discipline. The length of the program allows for a greater period of time devoted to Law subjects than in the combined Law degrees. The program involves compulsory subjects from the standard 3-year LLB program, plus 11 subjects from the LLB elective schedule.
Students who achieve a weighted average mark of 70% in all of their LLB subjects at the end of the 3rd-year are able to apply to transfer to the Bachelor of Laws Honours by Research degree. The course transfer will be subject to approval by the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Law in consultation with the LLB Honours Co-ordinator. The first year of the LLB program is offered on a full-time basis only.

    Bachelor of Laws (Graduates only)

Duration: 3 years full-time (6 sessions) or part-time equivalent. The firsrt year of the LLB program must be studied full-time.

Graduates of other disciplines are not required to enrol in double degrees. The Bachelor of Laws (3 year degree) provides students with professional legal skills, an understanding of the relationship between law and society, and general analytical skills for analysing and solving non-legal problems and specialised study into the Australian legal system. The program consists entirely of Law subjects with a narrower range of elective options.
