  • Nursing at Southern Cross University

Southern Cross University has a long history of preparing Registered Nurses for the health workforce and began operations in 1985 when all Nurse education pre-registration courses transferred to the tertiary sector. The School of Health and Human Sciences aims to provide access to high quality undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across the wide range of generalist and specialist practice in nursing and other health care practices.

As well as undergraduate degrees in Nursing, the School offers postgraduate study in the management of human health in the greater community and environment, developing professional health practitioners able to take on leadership roles in health, and to solve lifestyle related illnesses at the clinical and public health level.

The Bachelor of Nursingprovides a combination of coursework and clinical experiences offering students the opportunity to become a registered nurse when they graduate. The degree is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and provides the necessary qualification for graduates to be eligible to become a Registered Nurse in Australia.

The Master of Clinical Science (by coursework)provides professional development opportunities to current allied health practitioners in a range of specializations, capturing the latest developments in clinical sciences and public health.
