    Huntington University is a founding partner of Laurentian University located in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Huntington University is a federated university along with Thorneloe University and the University of Sudbury.

    As an independent university with its own charter, Huntington University specializes in arts and humanities programs, including communication studies, ethics, gerontology, philosophy, religious studies and theology. All of its degrees are conferred by both Laurentian University and Huntington University, with the exception of the graduate degree in counselling, which is conferred by Huntington. A growing university, Huntington has partnership agreements with colleges and universities in Canada and overseas.

    The university was founded in 1960 as one of the first post-secondary establishments of northern Ontario. The university is governed by a board of regents chaired by Jim Young. The president of Huntington University is Dr. Kevin McCormick.
