Applied learning and research at UTS: Design builds on studio practice and new technologies to refine design thinking for practice-orientated outcomes. We provide the frameworks for the future of the Design professions through examination, evaluation and experimentation of techniques, approaches and thought in design and design-related disciplines.

UNDERGRADUATE
- Animation reflects our strengths in digital and traditional techniques, narrative and production.
- Fashion and Textiles Design emphasises individual creativity, personal style and design philosophy.
- Industrial Design encourages creativity, research of design issues, and an awareness of sustainability.
- Interior and Spatial Design equips graduates with critical thinking, creativity and the skills to take up leading roles in industry.
- Photography and Situated Media explores traditional photography in urban environments.
- Visual Communication teaches print, screen and multi-media innovation, creativity and communication.
The Bachelor of Design in Animation will teach you how to conceptualise, visualise, realise, produce and create animation across manydifferent types of media. It will open up animation or visual effects careers in film, television, online and mobile application design.
You’ll learn about the fundamentals of animation - performance, narrative, characterisation, form, motion, time, space and aesthetics. You’ll explore and create new approaches to 2D and 3D Animation and VFX (visual effects) design.
