    Science developments and discoveries, both large and small, continue to change the world we live in. Science is a way of life suited to people who are open-minded and able to question why and how we do things. The Faculty’s mission is “To provide innovative, comprehensive and student-centred programs in science education, and to conduct highly original and significant research to the best international standards.”

    Recognised internationally for excellence in teaching and research Science at Monash is rated highly in the world rankings. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings recently placed Monash 42nd in the world for Life Sciences and The Academic Ranking of World Universities rated Monash in the top 75 universities for Chemistry. One of the largest Science faculties in Australia offering the largest selection of science specialisations available at any Australian University.

    Postgraduate degree by coursework

    Postgraduate studies are undertaken after completion of a bachelors degree or an honours degree, usually in a specialised area of study. Science postgraduate programs concentrate on undertaking meaningful research leading to advancements in scientific understanding. The faculty’s reputation for excellence in research means that students work with enthusiastic staff in a dynamic and relevant learning environment.
