The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences was established on 1st August 1996 as a result of the merger of the Department of Biomedical of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science with The Nutrition and Community Health Department of the Faculty Human Ecology. Currently, there are 1733 full-time students in the Faculty of Medicinel and Health Sciences.

Faculty Objectives :

1. To supply trained staff in the medical, biomedical, nutritional and other health science fields to meet the needs of the country
2. To increase cooperation and partnership with local and foreign agencies, institutions and bodies
3. To increase research activities in various medical, biomedical, nutrition and health science fields
4. To contribute consultancy and advisorial services and development to government agencies, non-governmental agencies and the private sector
