The Faculty of Engineering was formed on 30th December 1993. It is among the eight faculties available in UNIMAS. Currently, there are five programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering: Civil Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and Chemical Engineering. |
| ||
All of these programmes are designed and offered for the graduates to be able to fulfill the challenges demanded by the job markets. All of the programmes offered by UNIMAS are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC).
All of the programmes are continuously enhanced and updated in order to ensure the objectives of all of the programmes are being achieved. Our recent move to our new campus in Kota Samarahan will definitely enhance the teaching-learning and research experiences of our academic staff. Our faculty also welcomes the cooperation with industries through our university-industry link. The collaboration can be enhanced through the different expertise and experiences of our faculty members.
Department Of Civil Engineering
Department Of Electronic Engineering In undergraduate level, the department is offering 2 programmes which are Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering programme and Electronics and Computer Engineering programme. All these programmes are designed and geared for the students to be able to come up with the challenges within the industries that required engineers. The Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering was introduced in 1994 with the first intake of 5 students. The following year, the student intake increased to 26 students. The Electronics and Computer Engineering was introduced in 2000 with the first intake of 26 students. The Program emphasizes aspects of engineering related to Computer Technology, combining the study of computerization, telecommunications and electronics technologies.
Department Of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering The Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering is the third undergraduate programme offered by the Faculty of Engineering. It was first offered in 1996 with an intake of 24 students. Since then, this programme has become very popular and the demand from the students has been very encouraging. The Programme was designed with the objective of equipping students with the necessary knowledge, design and technical skills for the fast-developing manufacturing industry
Department Of Chemical Engineering & Energy Sustainability Apart from basic chemical engineering knowledge, this chemical engineering programme is inclined to prepare the students toward specific engineering expertise in energy and natural resources. With such, the students have the options to select preferred elective courses in their final year.
