Faculty of Technical  and Vocational Education(FPTV) is among the three newly established faculties in UTHM. The history of the faculty can be traced back to the establishment of Humanities and Education Department in 1996. The department later became Vocational & Technical Department (JPTV) when ITTHO was upgraded to KUiTTHO. Finally, JPTV gained its faculty status on 1st May 2004 and has since been known as Faculty Technical and Vocational Education.

The Faculty of  Technical and Vocational Education has been structured to encompass two major departments at the moment, namely,

    The Department of Professional Education(JIP).

This department has recruited professional and experienced educators.  They have vast experiences and extensive knowledge on educational disciplines such as pedagogy, psychology, sociology, education management, educational technology and other respective social sciences within their own area of interest.

    The Department of Engineering Education(JPK).

This department is the niche area of the faculty.  Staffing is unique and diverse due mainly to its mission to becoming the hub of technical education within the region. Most of the academic staff  are experienced and knowledgeable in the field of mechanical, electrical, civil, computer engineering and hospitality.
