The Faculty of Management and Economics was established in January 2000. Its establishment serves the purpose of providing academic and professional training to students so as to produce professionals in the fields of management, accounting, finances, economics, environmental policies, and counselling to meet the needs of the nation.

The faculty’s target is to produce quality graduates with competitive edge. Programmes offered by the faculty cover various fields such as management, marketing, finances, accounts, environmental policies, organisational counselling and economics. The offering of these programmes is in line with UMT’s aim of providing expertise in the fields of Science, Technology, and Natural Resource Management.

The faculty also intends to become the centre of excellence for research relating to natural resource management. Hence, the faculty provides the infrastructure and other facilities to academic staff and graduate students to enable them to conduct research, and also offers advisory and consultative services.
