    University of Malaya

Business education at the University of Malaya dates back to 1996 when the Faculty of Economics and Administration first offered business and accounting courses. The Faculty of Business and Accountancy (FBA) was subsequently established on the 1st of February, 1997 to focus on developing business and accounting programmes. Through education, the FBA strives to meet the challenges of preparing students to play a vital role in industries and the nation.

The Faculty offers five programmes: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Management (MM), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc). Three programmes have remained popular among students until today, they are: MBA, BBA, and BAcc. Students are provided with a balanced education in which theory and practice are given equal emphasis. This is achieved through the different pedagogies that we use.

Since its inception, the Faculty has grown rapidly and now has over 80 academic staff conducting courses for 2,300 students. In addition, invited speakers from the business communities and government agencies allow students to be exposed to ‘real-life situations’. Furthermore, our Board of Advisers and Adjunct Professors are prominent members of the business community who continuously ensure that our programmes meet the needs of the industry and country. The Faculty has two campuses. One is located at Lembah Pantai, the main campus of the University, and the other, at the city campus, which is located at Jalan Tun Ismail, in the heart of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
