Accountancy For more than 50 years, Faculty of Accountancy UiTM have drawn on their effort for teaching, their experience collaborating with professional bodies worldwide, and the insights gained from their research to educate generations of accountants who have shaped the practice of accounting in every industry in the country and around the world. In ensuring our graduates to be on the top list of big reputable accounting firms and multinational companies, the faculty equipped them not only by having good academic qualification, but coupled with other strengths comprising of excellent interpersonal skills, possessing professional qualification recognised worldwide, acquiring both soft and hard skills relevant to the field and by being seen of having good attributes and qualities such as being ethical. The Faculty of Accounting offers educational opportunities to those who wish to become qualified accountants. The Faculty was establishing in 1966 with the purpose of developing accountancy programmers at the semi-professional and professional levels. Graduates of the Faculty now hold managerial positions in finance, banking and accounting in various sectors and industries, not only in Malaysia but also in the international area. Postgraduate Undergraduate Professional Business Management The establishment in 1956 of Dewan Latihan RIDA (Rural Industrial Development Authority) to conduct courses for the benefit of Bumiputeras in the commerce and industrial activities in both rural and urban areas signified the beginning of the present Universiti Teknologi MARA. The first business related course offered was an18 day preparatory programme for the London Chamber of Commerce at Higher and Intermediate levels. This could be said to be the birth of the Faculty of Business Management (better known as FPP) whose prominent role in Universiti Teknologi MARA is well known. Postgraduate Undergraduate Information Management Faculty of Information Management, UiTM, takes pride in being the pioneer in providing professional education to fulfil the manpower need of the country in three very important fields, namely: Information Management, Library Management, and Records Management. Our academic programmes, supplemented by industry attachments, equip graduates with knowledge and skills to take on the challenging demands of managing information in various forms and in various types of organisations. Our graduates become the main driving force for the development of a knowledge-based society, transforming Malaysia into a developed nation, ensuring that the country’s rich reservoirs of knowledge are systematically organised, maintained and enhanced for optimum value. To achieve this aim, the programmes consist of the blended components from four main areas: Information Technologies, Professional and Technical Aspects of Information and Records Management, Public Relations, and Users’ Needs and Services.
