Aero Club of Southern Tasmania
The Aero Club of Southern Tasmania operates from Cambridge Aerodrome, Kennedy Drive, Cambridge which is adjacent to the main Hobart airport. The club has been operational continously since 1947. New members are most welcome. They offer flight training for RAA (Recreational Aviation Association) and GA (General Aviation) for GFPT, PPL andCPL flight training. RAA training is in their new up to date Sports Cruiser. GA training for GFPT and PPLis in ourCessna 172 aircraft. Commercial training can be done in a late model Cessna 182 fully equiped with modern instrumentation and avionics. Their aircraft hire rates are very competitive with reduced rates for members. Non members can also hire aircraft once approved by their CFI. As well as offering training, the club offers friendly social facilities with free tea and coffeein the club house and conducts various social events, competitions and fly-aways each year. The club operates 7 days a week, weather permitting.
