    Halls of Residence

    The communities that make up our halls of residence provide a lasting impression with students with many creating memories and relationships that last a lifetime.Auckland's newest hall under construction and due to open in February 2012, becoming home to over 400 students.

    University Hall

    Based at our City Campus, University Hall is located on Whitaker Place and will house 442 students in single bedrooms on 13 levels. There will be a residential management team on site consisting of a Head Hall, Assistant Manager, Residential Life Manager and Residential Assistants. The team will arrange social and recreational events throughout the year to help you make friends and settle into student life at the University.

     Huia Residence

     Huia is home to 319 students each year. It is ideal for those that like their independence. Each floor has two bathrooms (single gender) as well as a communal kitchen and laundry facilities. Residents here cook their own meals however there are meal plans available at a cost of between $50 and $100 per week. The Residential Management team which consists of the Head of Hall, Assistant Head of Hall, two Residential Supervisors and eleven Residential Assistants provide personal support throughout your stay and arrange a number of social and recreational activities during the year.

     
      International House

    International House is located on our City Campus and home to 171 students each year. It is Qualmark accredited, providing you with an assurance of quality. The residential care is available throughout with the Head of Hall and Residential Assistants all living on-site, with the Head of Hall and Assistant Head of Hall available during office hours. There is also a duty person available 24 hours a day.

     
       Grafton Hall  

    Grafton Hall is a nine-storey, fully catered hall of residence, set in an attractive garden with expansive lawns at 40 Seafield View Road, Grafton. It is situated on our Grafton Campus, making it convenient to those studying at our Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. For those who study at the City Campus, it is a 10 to 15 minute walk away from our General Library.

     
    O'Rorke Hall
     
    The closest of all our halls of residence, O'Rorke is right on the doorstep of the City Campus but also to Auckland's central business district and main arterial routes through the city making access to public transport quick and convenient. It is a fully catered hall, housing 352 students each year with an average of 25 students on each floor. The residential team consists of a Head of Hall, an Assistant Head of Hall, a Residential Supervisor (RS) and Residential Assistants (RA) available to provide support. The Head of Hall and RS live on site while there are RAs available on each floor. There is also a duty person available 24 hours a day.

    Self-catered apartments

    Self-catered apartments are where you live a little more independently, being responsible for your own meals and some of the costs of living.


    Number 14 Flats

    From 2012, we will be using the Number 14 Flats as accommodation for students in their first year of study at the University. Residents will be offered dinner 7 nights a week at University Hall and have the option of purchasing a full meal plan as well, if desired. Residents will also be able to share University Hall facilities as well as the facilities offered at the Number 14 Flats. All University Hall activities will be extended to residents of the Number 14 Flats as well.

     

    Park Road Student Flats

    These flats are reserved for Postgraduate students and is suitable for couples without children. It is an attractive two-storey building located near the Grafton Campus, giving it convenient access to both the Grafton and City Campuses as well as a short walk to the Newmarket shopping district.

     
      

     Parnell Student Village 

     

    The Parnell Student Village consists of 2-storey and 3-storey timber clad buildings, all housing 17 full-furnished apartments each with their own bathroom. There are four four-bedroom, 11 five-bedroom, 2 six-bedroom and 1 eight bedroom apartments available. It is is a 20 minute walk to the Grafton and City Campuses and there is ample public transport options available.

     

    The Royal

    The Royal provides accommodation suited to those who want a high degree of independence. There are three 2-bedroom apartments and three one-bedroom self-contained apartments available, each with a private bathroom. Rooms come complete with a full kitchen and are furnished with a dining table and chairs, two-seater couches, bedroom furniture and a vaccuum cleaner.
