Homestay accommodation can be arranged with NorthTec-registered Homestay hosts. It is the recommended first accommodation option for all international students. Overview: Homestay for International Students Homestay is the best way to experience total immersion English and to learn about New Zealand life and culture.

All Homestay hosts are carefully selected for their warm, welcoming attitudes and comfortable homes.  Homestay hosts live within thirty minutes walking distance or travel on public transport to the NorthTec campus. With a total commitment to quality and care, NorthTec ensures: 

• NZ Police Vetting of all Homestay hosts
• Full inspection of all homes and interviews with Homestay hosts
• Pick-up and delivery to Homestay hosts on arrival in Whangarei
• A “Welcome Pack” for all Homestay students
• A 24 hour contact number to be used in emergency situations
• Ongoing monitoring, follow up and support for students and hosts
