In the village, you'll enjoy modern self-contained student houses and a relaxed friendly atmosphere. It's a great way to adjust to student life, socialise and build friendships with all kinds of students from different backgrounds in a secure environment. What's more, you'll be within easy walking distance of all Manukau Institute of Technology facilities, as well as many shopping, public transport and recreational options.

    About the Student Village

The Manukau Institute of Technology Student Village has 14 houses with nine single bedrooms per house. Each house has two wings, both with a toilet and shower, and laundry facilities. The houses are fully furnished for simple living, so you can arrive with just your personal belongings and live quite comfortably. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own household items to make you feel more at home.

Each study bedroom has a computer study desk, internet access capabilities, a single bed with bedding and a wardrobe. And for your leisure and convenience, each house has a lounge with a television and phone, and common room facilities are available for all residents.

You'll find Manukau Institute of Technology's Student Village between the North and South Campuses on Alexander Crescent, Otara. It is within easy walking distance of both campuses, as well as Otara Recreational Centre swimming pools, sports facilities and gymnasium, a shopping centre and public transport.

    A safe, secure environment

A secure perimeter fence encloses the Student Village, and entry into the complex is only achieved through swipe card entry. The houses themselves have three entry doors, which are always locked from the outside, so you must enter by key when the doors are closed. Additionally, the study bedrooms can also be locked if so desired. Above and beyond all these measures, Manukau Institute of Technology has its own specific security service, Campus Security.
