The New Zealand Chiropractic Board is the regulatory authority established by the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 to regulate the profession of chiropractic in New Zealand.  The principle purpose of this Act is to protect the health and safety of members of the public by providing for mechanisms to ensure that health practitioners are competent and fit to practise their professions. The title of chiropractor is protected by this Act.  Only those health practitioners registered with the Chiropractic Board may use the title chiropractor and only chiropractors that hold a current Annual Practising Certificate may lawfully practice chiropractic in New Zealand.
