    The Monash University Foundation Year program, commonly known as MUFY, is a one year program which qualifies international students for entry to university in Australia. Developed in close association with Monash University, the Foundation Year is a flexible qualification specially designed as a generalist course, preparing students for first year entry into degrees from all 10 faculties at Monash University. Considered one of the leading Foundation Year programs in Australia, MUFY has been assisting students to reach their academic goals for more than 20 years. Students who successfully complete the program and fulfill all entry requirements are guaranteed entry into Monash University.

    The Foundation Year program was developed by Monash College, a wholly owned company of Monash University. It is delivered in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. In addition to delivering the Foundation Year, Monash College also provides diploma programs, English language courses and professional work experience, making it a perfect choice for students with strong career ambitions

    Foundation program

    Standard

    This format is recommended for students who have solid academic results and are able to demonstrate sound English language ability with a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent.

    Intensive

    The Intensive format has the same learning outcomes as the Standard format but offers students the opportunity to complete their studies in a shorter amount of time. This format is recommended for students with above average academic results and a high English language ability, minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent and no band less than 5.5.

    Extended

    Students wishing to prepare for entry into an Australian university, but require additional academic and English support, should consider the Extended format option. This format extends the standard program, with seven additional subjects unique to the extended format designed to strengthen students proficiency in English, Maths and Science. To be eligible, students must achieve an IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent, with no band less than 5.0. 

    Entry requirements

    Age

    Students must be 16 years of age when they enrol. Students that do not meet the age requirement, but would have otherwise been offered a place, will be offered a deferred place until the age entry requirement is met.


    High School Diploma overall average in academic subjects:

    • Intensive: 16
    • Standard: 14
    • Extended: 12
    • IELTS, TOEFL
