New Zealand Universities

New Zealand has eight universities all of excellent quality. Each university has strengths in research and teaching across a range of disciplines. New Zealand schools, universities and institutes are known worldwide for their high standards. In the universities, courses are delivered by respected teaching and research staff, even at first year level. Universities are also state owned and research based, which means they must compete at the highest levels to attract funding.

Quality assurance in the university sector ensures that academic processes are of an internationally respected standard.  The quality assurance processes use evidence to check that goals are being achieved and that policies and practices are under ongoing review as part of an overall quality enhancement regime.
