Culture

The traditional importance of music and poetry has encouraged a general appreciation of and support for all of the arts. There is strong public support throughout Wales for the arts, which are considered important to the national culture.

Geography

Wales is on the west of the island called Great Britain, and is a member of the United Kingdom. It's to the west of England. Wales is just over 20,000 square kilometres in size.

History

History of Wales begins with the arrival of the Romans. The Romans (40,000 strong) invaded the British Isles in 43 AD.

Currency

The currency in Wales is the pound sterling. The pound (£) sterling, divided into 100 pence, remains the national currency. There are coins of 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2; and notes of £5, £10, £20 and £50.
