A Passion for Sound The Los Angeles Recording School, a division of The Los Angeles Film School, was started in 1985 as an intensive, hands-on recording engineer job-training school. All classes and workshops are taught by industry professionals who are dedicated to passing their knowledge and techniques on to the next generation of audio professionals. Our mission is to provide the best possible Recording Arts training for students interested in starting or improving their careers in professional audio production and music recording. We aim, through our Recording Arts programs, to provide our students with the clearest possible explanation of professional audio equipment and techniques, to give our students structured hands-on training on industry standard equipment, to facilitate this instruction with a faculty comprised of professional recording engineers, and to provide our graduates with the greatest possible opportunities for career advancement. ACCREDITATION, LICENSING AND APPROVALS The Los Angeles Film School is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). ACCSC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency. The Los Angeles Film School's approval to operate as a private postesecondary school in the state of California is based on provisions of the California Private Postsecondary Education Act (CPPEA) of 2009, which was effective January 1, 2010. The Act is administered by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, under the Department of Consumer Affairs. The Los Angeles Film School is approved to train veterans by the California State Approving Agency for Veterans Education (CSAAVE). CSAAVE operates under contract with the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Under the authority of federal law, Title 38 U.S.C CSAAVE operates as part of the government of the State of California. The Los Angeles Film School is approved for Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy and US government tuition assistance through the DODMOU. The Los Agneles Film School is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity College Consortium. LEARN FROM AWARD-WINNING PROFESSIONALS One of the many advantages to being located in the heart of Hollywood is having access to an amazing faculty of entertainment professionals that is unparalleled anywhere else in the world. Our faculty have a minimum of four years experience working in the audio engineering industry and many are working professional recording engineers and musicians. They are the very same people who create some of the vibrant and original music and sounds you buy in the store, hear on the radio, on television, in video games, and almost everywhere you go. They understand how the recording world works, and care passionately about how music is made. Hollywood is our classroom, and we are committed to crafting an active, rich, and exciting atmosphere where our teachers can move and work freely between recording studios, live sound venues, and our classrooms. This allows our faculty to stay on the top of their game and pass their knowledge on to our students. RECORDING ARTS COURSES:
