Biotechnology

The Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology programme immerses students in the vast and fast advancing field of biotechnologyapplications. This ranges from Biotechnology in Agriculture, Industry,Environment, Nutraceutical and Food, as well as Health and PharmaceuticalIndustry, all of which will prepare students for diverse careeropportunities in this exciting field.

The Master of Science in Biotechnology programme is offered to graduates with academic and research interest to develop their expertise in the fast-growing field of biotechnology. Currently the mode of study is by Thesis (Structure A), or by Coursework and Thesis (Structure B), and by Coursework (Structure C), for full-time on campus and part-time candidates.The duration of study for full-time is 1.5 to 3 years and for part-time is 2 to 4 years.

Environmental Science

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science programme will educate students in the application of science and technology to environmental issues. Students will be taught systems approach to the analysis of environmental problems. These skills will be most sought after by global businesses, international organisations and national governments as they invest heavily into finding solutions to the world's environmental problems. Among the areas of knowledge that environmental science students will acquire include environment and health, environmental systems modeling, principles of toxicology & risk management, environmental biotechnology, pollution prevention and industrial waste management. There will be considerable laboratory work and hands-on learning. In addition, students will undertake research projects in their final year in a topic of their interest which will be supervised by experienced Faculty members. These are necessary to acquire practical and research skills on solving environmental problems.
