    The Faculty of Information Science and Technology began on 1 October 1994. It started its operations by sharing a building with the Science Mathematics Building before it was relocated to the Faculty of Engineering Building. Presently, the Faculty is operating in its own building as from 15 May 2001. With the establishment of the faculty, research and study programmes in the fields of technology and science are widened to assist the country in realising Vision 2020 and to prepare Malaysia as the information centre for the Pacific region.  

    The Faculty aims at producing expert resources to fulfilling the nation’s requirements in the field of information technology. Six fields of study are offered by the faculty, designed to meet  current market needs based on the report from Working Committee for Insufficient Work Force in Information Industry.

    The Faculty of Information Science and Technology offers the Bachelor of Information and Technology degree in the six following programmes:

         » Computer Science Programme 
         » Science and System Management Programme 
         » Information Science Programme 
         » Industrial Computering Programme 
         » Multimedia Studies Programme
