UTAS has over 27,000 students, including 3,300 international students from 100+ countries. Programs for international students are available at campuses in the capital city Hobart in the south, and in the city of Launceston in the north.  The University has a strong focus on preparing students with the practical and theoretical knowledge to succeed in an increasingly international career market.

UTAS students benefit from small class sizes, easy access to teaching staff, generous scholarship opportunities and affordable tuition fees. This, in combination with a lower cost-of-living in Tasmania than most other study destinations in Australia, friendly and safe communities, and beautiful natural environment, results in an enviable and enjoyable student experience.

    Chloe Ko Chyuan Peng

I had a good learning experience at the University of Tasmania with my combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws and I continued on to the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. My postgraduate study provided a solid foundation and exposure to every area of law in practice and I am now working at a law firm in Hobart. I decided to study at UTAS because it has one of the prominent law schools in the country. The people at UTAS are kind and helpful and lecturers are highly approachable. I like the lifestyle in Tasmania and closeness to nature.
